Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss the evidence for the use of integrative treatment options for patients with dermatologic issues
  • Review the risks of conventional and integrative therapies
  • Develop an integrative approach to several common skin conditions
  • Identify and describe the complex and multifactorial pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis
  • Review and understand strategies for the management of atopic dermatitis and its associated comorbid conditions
  • Develop treatment plans for pediatric and adolescent patients with atopic dermatitis that reflect evidence-based guidelines and strategies to optimize short-term control and long-term management of the disease
  • Understand the appropriate use of antibiotics in dermatologic surgery
  • Recognize the best use of flaps in facial reconstruction
  • Understand the management challenges of transplant patients with skin cancers
  • Understand the high risk criteria for aggressive SCC
  • Recognize what constitutes a high risk BCC
  • Comprehend treatment strategies for high risk NMSC
