Lecture Objectives:
- Understand the pathophysiology of psoriasis and immunological niches of the various biologic therapies
2. Differentiate between classes of biologics in clinical characteristics
3. Identify biologic treatments that may be appropriate for patients, including biosimilars.
4. Identify co-morbid conditions that complicate therapy for psoriasis
5. Correlate therapy with underlying health challenges
6. Consider both risks and benefits of psoriasis therapy for overall health
7. Discuss when and why patch tests are used
8. Discuss true test ingredients and series available in our patch test clinic and some of the major allergens
9. Discuss the complexity of atopic diseases and various tests
10. Review the clinical appearance of drug allergies and how to diagnose them
11. Discuss local populations at increased risk for melanoma including rural and military workers
12. Develop strategies for managing melanoma in challenging scenarios such as skin of color, pregnancy, and environments affected by COVID-19
13. Discuss indications and process for referring intermediate melanoma to UIHC
14. Review indications for using immunotherapy in earlier melanoma cases
15. Discuss questions for melanoma management from the community
